大连市第十五届“枫叶杯”英语演讲大赛选拔赛

各学院：

大连市第十五届“枫叶杯”英语演讲比赛即将开始。为了营造英语学习氛围，展示我校学生的英语学习水平，特决定在我校公开选拔参加演讲比赛的选手。具体操作办法如下：

一、 比赛时间：3月30日13:00

二、 比赛地点：新文112

三、 参赛对象：经过初赛后产生的选手20名。

1. 英语专业学生：4人；

l 英语专业教研室负责在学院内开展初赛，并于3月23日前推荐4名选手参加学校比赛。

2. 公共英语学生：16人

l 大学英语第一教研室负责全校大二学生的初赛选拔工作，并于3月23 日前，推荐6名选手参加学校比赛。

l 大学英语第二教研室负责全校大一学生的初赛选拔工作，并于3月23日前推荐8名选手参加学校比赛。

l 全校大三、大四的学生以自荐方式于3月20日前到英语学院报名，3月23日选拔，并推荐2名选手参加学校比赛。

四、 比赛内容

1.第一轮：参赛者从下列演讲题目中自选一题准备，比赛时脱稿演讲，时间为3 —4分钟。

l Recently, the liberal education project atZhongshanUniversityhas attracted great attention. The 35 freshmen taking part in this project will follow a general curriculum providing broad learning in multiple disciplines rather than the usual in depth study of one particular major. They may benefit a great deal by broadening their knowledge, but will they lose out when it comes to job hunting in four years’ time? Give your opinion about this liberal education project.

l A global survey shows that cell phones have become the “remote control” for life because they are with us all the time. They give us safety, security and instant access to information. They have become the number one tool of communication for us. How do you view people’s reliance on cell phones?

l Government jobs are often considered dull and boring. However, nearly one and a half million people took the national examination for recruitment of civil servants last year. Among these, up to 4 thousand people had applied for post with just one vacancy. What do you think of about this feverish demand for civil service jobs?

2. 第二轮：进入前8名选手现场抽取演讲题目，准备5分钟后，即席演讲，时间1-2分钟。外教现场提问1个问题。

五、 奖项设置：

一等奖：1名，推荐参加4月16日在日韩饭店举办的大连市复赛。

二等奖：3名，推荐参加4月16在日韩饭店举办的大连市复赛。

三等奖：4名。

优胜奖：12名。

研究生可报名参加社会成人组比赛，直接登录www.wb.dl.gov.cn下载报名表格，发至wbgov@hotmail.com。如果进入大连市决赛，将会得到上述同样的奖励。
